Childhood and Early Life
Steven Gerrard was born on 30 May 1980 in Whiston, Merryside, and got the chance of playing for his home team Whiston Juniors. Being a talented lad, at an early age of eight, he joined the Liverpool Academy. He completed his education from the Cardinal Hennan Catholic High School.
He had also played trials with various clubs at the age of fourteen which included his mentioned name in his autobiography, Manchester United. He signed his first professional contract in his career with Liverpool on 5 November, 1997.

Gerrard, after playing his first team debut, became a regular contributor on the following year. He had already established himself as a star midfielder by the 2000-2001 season, when Liverpool won the League, Football Association (FA) and Union of Football Association (UEFA) cups. concreting his position in the first team in 2000 and succeeding Sami Hyypiä as team captain in 2003.
