In such a world of business, Liliane Henriette Charlotte Bettencourt has established her identity as one of the major shareholders of the L’Oréal Company. She did a lot of struggle in her life but every efforts were paid off when she was listed as one of the richest woman in the world by the famous Forbes magazine. She became the eleventh richest woman in the world with a high amount of net worth in the year 2016. Her personal and professional careers have remained quite interesting throughout the years because of her success stories which are very encouraging especially for the budding professionals.
Liliane Bettencourt was born as the only child of Louise Madeleine Berthe and Eugene Schuller in Paris on October 21 during the year 1922. His father was the owner and only founder of the most famous cosmetic business company, L’Oréal. Liliane lost her mother when she was only five years old. She was brought up by her father only which was the result of their beautiful father-daughter bond. Though her father later married her governess who was appointed to take care of Liliane, nothing affected her personal life. Liliane was quite happy with the new member in her family. From childhood, she was very good in studies and has always received the appreciation from her teachers as well as from her parents.
She was always devoted towards her work and studies and completed her matriculation examinations at the age of fifteen only. After achieving her matriculation degree, she was able to prove her business interests to her father which helped her to get the opportunity to join the family business. She did not leave her educational career behind instead, moved forward with her further studies and also carried on with the business development works.
Liliane Bettencourt flourished in her career at a quite early age. Through her excellent merits and business interests, she took the business to a new position along with her co-workers. She has also received the award of being the best employee in the office from her father which she considers to be her life’s biggest achievement till now. Seeing her enthusiasm towards the business, her father willed her as the only inheritor of his business after his death.
During the year 1963, Bettencourt became the principal shareholder of L’Oréal with the majority shares. Though later, due to the tensions regarding the French elections, she signed an exchange deal with Nestle. After that, she introduced various strategies and policies in the company to make it reach a height and within a period of time, she became successful in her mission. Recently, in the year 2012 she has also resigned as the board member of the company to give her place to her grandson, Jean Victor.
Liliane Bettencourt has achieved a lot success as a single woman in her career life. She has not only established herself identity but has also benefitted the company with the large number of shares which is about 30.5% as per the approximate records.
Liliane Bettencourt has married the famous French politician named as André Bettencourt who, once held the position of cabinet minister in the French government system. Later, he also got into the business of L’Oréal to help his wife. Both of them also has a daughter named, Françoise who was born on 1953. The family presently lives at Art Moderne Mansion which is among the famous wonders of France.
