Having represented Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District since 1999, Paul Davis Ryan is the 54th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

Post the retirement of John Boenher on October 29, 2015, Paul Ryan became the first individual from Wisconsin to hold the position of a speaker and the current status of Paul has sky rocketed his net worth to $7.8 million.

Early Life of American Politician


Born as the youngest son of Elizabeth A. Betty and Paul Murray Ryan on 29th January, 1970, Paul Ryan spent his child in Janesville, Wisconsin. Paul’s father was a lawyer and his grandfather, Stanley M. Ryan, was once appointed as the U.S.  attorney for Western District of Wisconsin.


Paul attended St. Mary’s Catholic school and Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville. During his high school years, Paul was elected as president of his junior class and was thus a representative of the student body on the school board meetings. Apart from being associated with several teams including ski, track and varsity soccer, Paul went on hiking trips to Colorado Rocky Mountains with his family.


As a young lad of 16 years, Paul witnessed his father’s death by heart attack. Paul took care of his grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimer’s and helped his mother with the household as she commuted daily to Madison, Wisconsin for her college. Social security survivors benefit was the main fund that backed Paul’s college education after his father’s untimely death.


Paul earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. During this course, Paul’s Professor Richard Hart presented National Review to him and later recommended him to Senator Bob Kasten, where Paul joined as an intern working with Kasten’s foreign affairs advisor.

Career Hights and Growth


Followed by initial years of internship at Kasten’s D.C office, Paul joined his office as a legislative aid after completion of his graduation degree. At the age of mere 28 years, Paul was elected to represent Wisconsin’s Congressional District at the U.S. House of Representatives in the year 1998. While he served as Chairman of House Budget Committee, Paul helped in the negotiation of Bipartisan Budget Act (2013). Paul was announced as the Republican candidate for vice presidential position by then Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for the election 2012.


Romney and Paul lost as Barrack Obama won the thrilling presidential race of 2012 defeating Romney. Paul continued to remain popular in his home state of Wisconsin and thus was reelected in the House with a large margin of 63% votes.

At the age of 45 and with the support of 236 votes, Romney was appointed as the 54th speaker of the House on 29th October 2015 and thus became the youngest person in US history to hold this position.


2016 presidential elections saw on and off support of Paul for then presidential candidate, now President of USA, Donald Trump. Even after agreeing to endorse Trump during the elections 2016, Paul later declared he will rather concentrate of Congressional elections when he witnessed the scandal where Donald Trump is heard of objectifying women with comments like groping women.

Constituent Services

In the year of 2008, Paul accumulated $5.4 million for his constituency of Wisconsin, which involved various transportation services like Ice Age trail and Janesville transit system. Apart from this, he voiced for stimulus funds for energy projects in his district to the Department of Energy in the year of 2009.

Achievement and Awards of a Great Leader


Paul has earned a wide range of awards and honors. He won the award of “Guardian of Small Business Award”, by National Federation of Independent Business, twice till date in the years of 2004 and 2010. Paul has been appreciated with Alexander Hamilton Award, Manhattan Institute for Policy Research in the year of 2014.

Personal and Married Life of Paul


Paul married Janna Little in the year of 2000. Paul and Janna live with their three children, Liza, Charles and Sam, in Janesville, Wisconsin.
